Summary: Aburao a famous film star performs final rites of his mother Manjula and heads towards his home and revisits his childhood memories where in flashback it unfolds that Aburao was a illegitimate son.A Tamasha dancer ManjulaShe left her dancing troupe and eventually became a mistress of a politician-landlord, Himmatrao Inamdar.But sudden death of Inamdar forces Manjula and Aburao to join back the dance troupe. Manjula is mentored by Nana and young Aburao gets fascinated by ability of Nana which makes people laugh and wants to be a Clown.Aburao is now grown up and learns mimicry, singing and becomes famous for his political satirical jokes in the Tamasha world.Gunwant who was Aburao's school friend has now become a minister and attends one of his show and asks him to start his own Tamasha troupe with Nana and Manjula on the occasion of 500th show Aburao invites Gunwant as a guest of honor where he is accompanied by film star Menaka who enjoys Aburao's performance and asks him to join films at first he is hesitant convinced by Menaka and her associates in the industry.Aburao plans only to do one film but gets attracted towards fame and Menaka and leaves behind his pregnant girlfriend Subhadra and Tamasha troupe. Menaka and Aburao get married but then soon he realizes that Menaka married him only to get away from her boyfriend Ravi and tells him that she loved the Clown in him then himself, few years later Nana arrives with a little girl and tells him that Subhadra is no more and this little girl Jaai is the daughter of him and Subhadra and tells a strange thing about her that she has never smiled till date.Nana leaves by saying henceforth he has to take care of Jaai,Aburao takes Jaai home which creates fights between him and Menaka and she elopes with Ravi.Aburao tries his best to make Jaai smile but she does not.Jaai tells him that she expects a fairy tail from him like any other father would tell his daughter.Gunawant visits Aburao and asks him to join politics as a politician he starts defying his own principles.One day Nana revisits him and reminds him of his responsibility towards Jaai.Aburao suffers a heart attack during his political speech and also notices Jaai in the audience. Having realized this, he changes his speech into a fairy tale which upsets the audience. Everybody leaves except Aburao and Jaai to have their story finished.This makes Jaai smile and laugh. Aburao also becomes happy to realize the true meaning of love in the life.
