Summary: Water, the most basic human necessity is the scarcest one in the Rann of Kutch. People here, can kill for water! Kim, a Russian bird watcher is part of an NGO that works for the environmental issues. Her excitement to visit the place, soon turns to despair as she discovers that Flamingo chicks are dying due to increased salinity in water. The only way to save them is to create artificial ponds and provide them a suitable habitat. Bakka, is the only hope for the thirsty villagers and everybody calls him the 'God of water'. He knows how to find water with his mystic dowsing rods in the desert. In her efforts to save the birds, Kim also turns to Bakka. Birds need water and so do the thirsty villagers. Whose life is more important? The emotions in these hearts have dried up and their beliefs are shattered just like the cracked land beneath their feet. Here water is thicker than blood!
