Summary: Indira is a bright independent minded educated woman who teaches Modern European History in one the college. She has been married to Chandrakant, a cop for the last 20 years and they have a teenage son, Vijay. The son is intelligent, sensitive and caring for his mother. He has artistic orientations and wants to be a painter, while his father, the cop, wants him to join the Police Department. The frustration drives him into the self destructive drug path. Indira, has tolerated enough of domestic torture, but when it comes to her son's future she would have none of it. She asks her husband to help, but he has already given up on the son, considering him to be a waste of time. She confronts the local drug mafia to no avail. She is at a crossroad. She can see her son dying a slow death, unless she acts. And as she puts in the film, "when all the doors are closed, one has to kick open some", she does give him a re-birth. A second chance to make his life. The film is about her fight, a mother's war cry.
