Summary: Blood matching is a two minute film to create awareness and propagate a blood check for couples to save future generations from thalassemia. Bodies of children suffering from thalassemia do not produce enough blood and they have to rely on blood transfusion throughout their lives. Thalassemia can manifest itself as a disease in an unborn child if both the parents carry this trait. A blood test can detect carriers who have to exercise caution in partner selection and planning a child. Thalassemia is spread across continents, primarily in communities of Asian and Mediterranean origin. Over 50 million Indians carry this trait and more than 25,000 Indian children are born with this disease every year.
