Summary: This film appeals directly to Indians of all classes to help to alleviate War Time Scarcity by growing their own food. War-time scarcity sent the prices of vegetables soaring and an Indian Middle Class family sets about producing its own supply of nourishing victuals. The going is hard for neither the husband nor the wife know anything about raising vegetables. But patience about perseverance help them to surmount the obstacles. In a few short weeks their self-reliance becomes the envy of the neighbours and those who scoffed at first begin digging furiously in their turn. Light and humourous treatment makes this short film very entertaining besides helping India's drive to grow more food.
