Summary: Aside from the fact that it is produced by the Indian Railways, nothing is known about this beautiful little film or its director. It simply and directly shows khedda or the capture of wild elephants in one of the great forests of southern India. But he must have been an experienced and sensitive filmmaker for he trusts the images to speak for themselves. The grandeur of the khedda operations and the pathos of the capture of the majestic wild animals are observed in a discreet and symPathétic manner. Probably made in the early 1930s, the influence of British documentary can be strongly felt in this film.
