The history of Indian cinema dates back to May 18, 1912 when the first Indian story film Raja Harishchandra made by Dadasaheb Phalke (now regarded as the father of Indian cinema) was screened in Bombay. Through clippings of several landmark films in the Indian film history and interviews with P.K. Nair, Director, National Film Archives of India and several other prominent practising as well retired producers, actors, directors, etc this film analyses the fascinating history of Indian cinema that has been emerging in various languages of the country, and in various forms. A very interesting and analytical perspective of the ever-evolving Indian cinema is developed in this comprehensive film.
