Summary: India's cottage industries have for generations supplied the needs of her people, and the humble, home-made articles that emanate from the villager's hands have been appreciated far and wide. This short film covers the making of blankets in a Northern Indian Village and illustrates the care and toil that the villager devotes to his simple handiwork. The War has opened up new markets for the produce of India's villages and these blankets are being used by India's fighting-men in the cold bleak deserts and snow-covered tracts of the Middle East. For the troops it is a comforting thought that the blankets which keep them warm and snug were made in a village way back home .... It is a reminder of India.
