Curious Scenes in India (1913)
Summary: The picture shows queer-looking "Pilgrims" in their fantastic dress and rites. A solemn religious ceremony in which the immense "Temple Elephant" is taken into the temple to receive his gorgeous trappings for the annual parade at Kandy is also shown in a close view as it passes through the narrow crooked streets. We also see domesticated elephants of enormous size performing tasks requiring in addition to their enormous strength a higher degree of intelligence than has ever been attained by any other animal. In addition to the many other wonders of this picture we have a close view of wild elephants being captured and tethered to trees, putting forth tremendous efforts to break their bonds.
