Director: Bombay Talkies; Producer: Ministry of Information
Summary: Not long ago, North Africa was the key to the successful defence of India and the Indian soldier played a glorious part in removing the Nazi menace to his country. This interesting short film shows the khaki-clad Indian sepoy in action on the sands of Egypt and in the mountainous tracts of Abysinnia. Indian soldiers will be remembered for their conspicuous share in the Wavell plan of surprise which shattered Italy's military power and there are interesting sequences of Indian troops in action in the Middle East. Sir Claude Auchinleck, the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, speaks the foreword to this film, and pays a well-deserved tribute to the Army of which he is proud to be in command.
