Director: Suvin S. Somasekharan
Summary: Ten Stories in Color is a musical short film with an abstract picturisation of ten stories from a box. The box can be anything from a Film projector or even the Television set. Ten children are seeing some visuals ,or recreating what they have already seen maybe in their real life and maybe picking up from their sub-conscious mind. The children and what they see is not out of this world. It is and it surely is the totality of what all they have seen around them under different circumstances. The Visuals originating from the "mystery box" tend to be bound up by the limitation of being in a box frame. So the director has put effort to bind himself too under this limitation. To achieve this he has constructed each story in such a way that each story is represented in shots equivalent to the respective story order. ie, The first kid sees the story in one shot. The second kid sees the story in 2 shots and this goes along like the 9th kid seeing in 9 shots. So in a way the maker is also limited like the children.Working in this self-made up limitation the story is constructed. Another major element in the picturisation is the Cinematographer's frames. Nikhil Kuttichal captures some spell binding frames and justify the fantasy-musical-short film's frames. Also another notable work is the sound design by Gokul K R. He has successfully created a special sonic- reality all throughout this musical film.
