Summary: Windfall of Grace is is a feature-length documentary on Neem Karoli Baba (1900-1973), also known as Maharajji, who became well-known in the West as the much respected guru of Ram Dass. In a heart-invoking odyssey this film explores the enigma that he was and continues to be, a marvellous metaphor of the exalted beings that India is treasured for. Through candid narratives by a potpourri of devotees and an eclectic mix of kirtan, the film offers a peak into the potency of his love; the eccentricities of his being, the perplexity of his alchemy; and perhaps a glimpse of how the sublime blows out of the mundane. An engaging blend of narratives from simple, rustic Indian devotees juxtaposed by stories of renowned American devotees. These expressions seek to bring out not just the contrasts but also the similarities between the two by way of their overwhelming love and surrender for Maharajji.
