Summary: Telugu mythological telling the story of the enmity
between Shiva and Daksha, the father of Shiva’s
consort Uma. When Daksha announces a yagna
(ritual sacrifice), Shiva is the only god in the
pantheon who is not invited, and Uma arrives
alone. This crisis threatens to terminate the yagna
before it can start, as Uma gives up her life and is
resurrected as Parvati.
