Summary: Typical Marathi reform social written and produced by Atre. Evil mother-in-law (Khote) cruelly exploits the young bride Vidya (Vanamala). Husband Murari (Avinash) protests only feebly until finally he decides to revolt and stand by his wife. The film ends with Vidya, now in charge of the house, declaring her commitment to the very tradition that victimised her. The widowed and equally vindictive sister-in-law Champa (Deshpande) and the village flirt Nokheram (played by the director) are the other major characters of this commercial hit.
