Summary: Mythological featuring a contest between Garuda
(the eagle) and Hanuman (the monkey god),
regarded as Vishnu’s two most trusted followers.
Although Garuda can see the original Vishnu avatar
underneath Vishnu’s current incarnation as Rama,
Hanuman has greater access to Rama, his temporal
master. The film, adapted from a stage play, was
noted mainly for Bhanumathi’s singing, re-released
in HMV’s series
