Summary: A biographical on the great Hindi poet Maithili Saran Gupt, who was also a freedom fighter. The modern Hindi poetry gained a new perspective by the work of Maithili Sharan Gupt. He was born on August 3, 1886 in a small village of Uttar Pradesh. For his significant contribution, Maithili Sharan Gupt was made the National Poet. In 1955, he was also honoured with Padmabhushan, by the Government of India. This great poet and a humanist died on December 12, 1964.
