Acting standards foo are of a high calibre. Leela Chitnis, as the ever loving mother and Bharat Bhushan as the dutiful son have given excellent performances. Dialogue bristles with drama, wit and humour. Music is appealing and the general and technical brilliance of the film is due greatly to the able direction of Bimal Roy.
