Summary: Musical cross-class romance featuring Sunder (Anand) and Nisha (Parekh) whose childhood betrothal is broken off by the girl’s father when he becomes a millionaire. Sunder then woos Nisha, pretending to be the rich Popatlal, and she falls in love with him. Complicating the situation is a parallel story in which Nisha’s best friend Shanti is killed by Sohan (Pran) who is blackmailed by a hotel manager and frames Sundar with the crime. Known mainly for its hit songs Yeh aankhen oof yumma, Sau saal pehle and Jiya ho jiya, both sung by Mohammed Rafi, the former being a duet with Lata Mangeshkar.
