Summary: Brother and sister story about the orphaned Rajasekharan (Ganesan) who is devoted to his sister Radha (Savitri). However, she marries Anand (Ganesh), a worker and colleague of Rajasekharan. The lonely brother is struck with blindness and spends the rest of the film trying to unite with his beloved sister. Eventually the two die in each other’s arms. One of the earliest and best known of Malayalam scenarist/producer K.P. Kottarakkara’s Tamil films. A popular song in the film was Malarinthum malaratha (sung by T.M. Soundararajan), in which the hero dreams of his sister’s marriage and what he will do for her child.
