Summary: Wealthy hero meets local belle while touring the famous temples of Konarak, Orissa. He marries her and then goes home, promising to return. When he fails to do so, the woman traces him to his home. After first rejecting her he eventually accepts her as his wife. Oriya cinema’s first colour film is better known for its music, composed by Hari, i.e. the noted flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia, and Bhubhan. Hit song hits include E banara chai and E mora dost, sung by Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar, and Sathi re jaa kahi, sung by Suman Kalyanpur.
