Summary: Bapu’s lavish and successful colour mythological with special effects supervised by the cinematographer and director Ravikant Nagaich and art direction by K. Nageshwara Rao, is one of the best-known 70s Telugu films in the genre. The story is the Ramayana tale leading up to the wedding between Rama (Kumar, who also plays the part of Vishnu) and the Princess Seeta (Jayapradha, who also plays Lakshmi). The villainous interloper is King Ravana (Sathyanarayana).

The concept of Dharmapravartana is adopted from Buddhism - where the Buddha's first sermon is called the Dhammachakkapavattana - meaning the turning of the wheel of Dharma. Pravartana means to move around an axis. Pravartana in Telugu typically means behaviour.

The story of Vamana is indeed narrated at this point in the Balakhanda of Valmiki Ramayana however, there, Vishwamitra guides the brothers to see Vamana's Ashram. Since it confuses the Dashavataras as a linear progression, this alteration must have been done.

This song is inspired from 'Seetaramulakalyanamu Chutamurarandi' from 1960 film Seetarama Kalyanam which had by this point become a standard Telugu wedding song.
'Brahma kadigina padamu' is the first line of a composition by Tallapaka Annamacharya.
The Parasurama episode opens slightly differently in the text. The marriage retinue are on their way to Ayodhya from Mithila and Parasurama encounters them. Parasurama expresses that he is impressed by Rama's strength in breaking the bow but would like to see if he can break Vishnu's bow too.
