Indiancine.ma is an online archive of Indian films intended to facilitate research, criticism, educational, annotation and allied uses. The site aims to promote inter disciplinary scholarship and is meant to be used only for non commercial purposes.
Sec. 26 of the Copyright Act in India sets the term of copyright for cinematograph films at sixty years from the the year in which the film is published. For all films whose term of copyright has expired the entire film shall be available to all users to view and annotate.
In case of films which are still under copyright term general users shall only be able to view the information page and time restricted clips which have been annotated as per the fair dealing exception provided in Sec. 52 of the Copyright Act. Further if there are users who would like to annotate films which are still under copyright, they may contact
Indiancine.ma who after verification of credentials (scholars, students and other bona fide researchers) will have the discretion to provide the user with a researcher status to enable to them to annotate the films. All such users acknowledge that their usage of the films shall be in accordance with Sec. 52 of the Copyright Act and usage shall be restricted to personal use including research, criticism and review.
The individual annotations, notes, comments and other addition in the form of text and images are all generated by users of indiancine.ma and may be identified by their individual contributors. These remain the copyright of the individual contributors. However by using Indiancine.ma and the terms and conditions users agree to being bond by the terms and conditions of Indiancine.ma and all materials generated are licensed under the
